Ap\u00f3s o golpe brit\u00e2nico-estadunidense de 19 de agosto de 1953, a repress\u00e3o ao Movimento de Nacionaliza\u00e7\u00e3o do Petr\u00f3leo, as execu\u00e7\u00f5es, as pris\u00f5es em massa e a repress\u00e3o da SAVAK, o Partido entrou em um per\u00edodo de clandestinidade e ex\u00edlio. Durante o movimento revolucion\u00e1rio da d\u00e9cada de 1970, expandiu suas atividades. Ap\u00f3s o massacre na Pra\u00e7a Jaleh, em setembro de 1978, o \u00f3rg\u00e3o de imprensa do Partido, *Navid*, convocou uma greve geral em todo o pa\u00eds. A declara\u00e7\u00e3o aponta que a greve geral, especialmente a dos trabalhadores do setor petrol\u00edfero, contribuiu para a queda da monarquia e para a Revolu\u00e7\u00e3o de fevereiro de 1979.<\/p>\n

Condena tamb\u00e9m a repress\u00e3o do governo iraniano aos protestos contra a pobreza, o alto custo de vida e a fome, bem como as execu\u00e7\u00f5es e outras medidas repressivas. Ao mesmo tempo, critica as san\u00e7\u00f5es e a guerra econ\u00f4mica dos EUA, afirmando que estas intensificaram a pobreza e as dificuldades para dezenas de milh\u00f5es de iranianos. O Partido clama pelo fim das san\u00e7\u00f5es e da guerra econ\u00f4mica, pela preven\u00e7\u00e3o a um novo conflito militar e pela mobiliza\u00e7\u00e3o tanto contra a agress\u00e3o estrangeira quanto contra a repress\u00e3o interna.<\/p>\n
Afirma que sua miss\u00e3o hist\u00f3rica permanece sendo a liberta\u00e7\u00e3o do Ir\u00e3 da tirania e o estabelecimento da liberdade, da independ\u00eancia genu\u00edna, da justi\u00e7a social e do socialismo. A declara\u00e7\u00e3o conclui homenageando os militantes do Tudeh que tombaram, os presos pol\u00edticos, suas fam\u00edlias e os membros e apoiadores do Partido que continuam a luta. Following the US-British coup of August 19, 1953, the suppression of the Oil Nationalization Movement, executions, mass arrests, and SAVAK repression, the Party entered a period of clandestine activity and exile. During the revolutionary movement of the 1970s, it expanded its activities. After the September 1978 massacre at Jaleh Square, the Party\u2019s publication Navid called for a nationwide general strike. The statement says that the general strike, particularly by oil workers, contributed to the overthrow of the monarchy and the February 1979 Revolution.<\/p>\n
After the revolution, the Party returned to Iran and became a nationwide organization, organizing among workers, peasants, students, women, and intellectuals. The statement acknowledges that the Party initially prioritized opposition to imperialist threats while failing to give sufficient attention to the growing authoritarianism and religious reaction of the new government. By the early 1980s, it concluded that the ruling forces were pursuing the monopolization of political power and the suppression of leftist organizations.<\/p>\n
The statement emphasizes the massive repression of the Tudeh Party in February and May 1983, including arrests, torture, executions, and the imprisonment of thousands of members. Despite the regime\u2019s claims that it had destroyed the Party, the statement says that the Tudeh Party survived through the efforts of members inside Iran and in the diaspora. It also condemns what it describes as continuing propaganda campaigns by the Islamic Republic\u2019s security apparatus, political opponents, and pro-capitalist forces aimed at distorting the Party\u2019s history and policies.<\/p>\n
The statement presents the current period as one of the most dangerous in Iran\u2019s contemporary history. It condemns US and Israeli military aggression against Iran, the bombing and destruction of Iranian cities and infrastructure, and what it describes as war crimes. It reiterates the Party\u2019s opposition to the Islamic Republic while also opposing foreign intervention, the dismemberment of Iran, and the imposition of political forces through foreign interests.<\/p>\n
It also condemns the Iranian government\u2019s repression of protests over poverty, high living costs, and deprivation, as well as executions and other repressive measures. The Party calls for an end to sanctions and economic warfare, prevention of renewed military conflict, and mobilization against both foreign aggression and domestic repression. It states that its historic mission remains the liberation of Iran from tyranny and the establishment of freedom, genuine independence, social justice, and socialism.<\/p>\n
The statement concludes by honoring fallen Tudeh members, political prisoners, their families, and Party members and supporters who continue their struggle. It calls for opposition to imperialist aggression and the Israeli state, opposition to dictatorship, peace, and the united struggle of patriotic and freedom-loving forces.<\/p>\n
