Israel condena parlamentar palestina Khalida Jarrar a dois anos de prisão

Quem é Khalida Jarrar?

Khalida Jarrar é uma das políticas mais ilustres e populares da Palestina. Jarrar também é uma conhecida ativista em favor dos prisioneiros palestinos. Ela dirigiu a organização sem fins lucrativos de assistência jurídica aos prisioneiros palestinos, Al-Dameer, de 1994 a 2006, quando foi eleita para a legislatura palestina.

Ela serviu como uma feroz ativista pelos direitos das mulheres durante anos, tanto dentro quanto fora das prisões israelenses, o que incluiu defender com sucesso as mulheres presas para fazerem exames de matrícula na escola secundária enquanto cumpriam suas sentenças em prisões israelenses.

Khalida também passou anos documentando violações dos direitos humanos israelenses contra crianças palestinas e prisioneiros feridos, na condição de chefe do comitê de prisioneiros do PLC e durante seu antigo papel como diretora da Al-ddameer.

Dos fatos

Khalida Jarrar foi sentenciada na segunda-feira, 8 de março, a dois anos de prisão, depois de ficar detida em uma cadeia israelense por mais de um ano sem acusações, a chamada prisão administrativa sem o devido processo legal, praticamente só para palestinos.

A Corte Militar condenou Khalida Jarrar por sua própria confissão, porque ela não negou ter sido membro da FPLP (de 2016 até 2019, quando foi presa). Em Israel é crime pertencer a essa organização.

Jarrar tinha sido presa junto com dezenas de outros membros da FPLP em outubro de 2019, depois de um ataque terrorista de uma organização. A polícia/justiça acusou a PFLP pelo atentado (Israel, Estados Unidos e a União Europeia consideram a PFLP uma organização terrorista).

Jarrar recebeu dois anos de prisão como parte de um acordo judicial. Como ela foi detida pela primeira vez há um ano, ela cumprirá apenas cerca de oito meses de sua sentença. Ela também terá que pagar uma multa.

Khalida Jarrar foi eleita em 2006 para a legislatura palestina como representante da FPLP. Há muito tempo ela é uma conhecida política da FPLP, com foco nos direitos das mulheres e nos assuntos dos prisioneiros nas prisões israelenses. Os promotores militares disseram que não foram encontradas evidências suficientes do envolvimento dela nas atividades armadas da FPLP para a condenar, mas ela é ou foi um membro da FPLP!

Embora, de acordo com a lei internacional e os tribunais israelenses, ninguém possa ser detido por suas opiniões políticas, na prática os líderes políticos palestinos são rotineiramente presos e detidos como parte de um esforço contínuo de Israel para suprimir os processos políticos palestinos – e, como resultado, a política palestina de soberania e autodeterminação.

Khalida Jarrar foi sentenciada no dia 08/03/2021 a dois anos de prisão depois de ter estado numa prisão israelense por mais de um ano sem acusação formal, a chamada prisão administrativa sem o devido processo legal, um tipo de prisão praticamente só para palestinos. Então praticamente ela já cumpriu sua pena: nada mais deve à Justiça!

Who is Khalida Jarrar?

Khalida Jarrar is one of Palestine’s most distinguished and popular politicians .She was elected in 2006 to the Palestinian legislature as a PFLP – Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine representative. She has long been a well-known PFLP politician, focusing on women’s rights and the affairs of prisoners in Israeli jails.

Jarrar is also a well-known campaigner on behalf of Palestinian prisoners. She directed the Palestinian prisoners’ legal assistance nonprofit, Al-Dameer, from 1994 to 2006, when she was elected to the Palestinian legislature.

She has served as a fierce women’s rights activist for years, both inside and outside Israel’s prison walls, which included successfully advocating for women prisoners to take secondary school matriculation exams while serving their sentences in Israeli prisons. When she was last incarcerated, she headed courses on international law and human rights for the women prisoners.

Khalida has also spent years documenting Israeli human rights violations against Palestinian children and injured prisoners as the head of the PLC’s prisoners committee, and during her former role as the director of Al -ddameer.

Khalida Jarrar was sentenced on Monday March 8th to two years in prison after being held in an Israeli jail for more than a year without charges, the so-called administrative prison without due legal process, practically only for Palestinians.

The Military Court convicted Khalida Jarrar, by her own confession, because she didn’t deny being a PLP member ( from 2016 until her arrest in 2019). In Israel is an offense to hold office in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

Jarrar had been arrested along with dozens of other PFLP members in October 2019 after a terror attack by one organization ; the police / justice accused the PFLP for the attack (Israel, the United States and the European Union consider the PFLP a terrorist organization).

Jarrar received two years in jail as part of a plea bargain. As she was first detained over a year ago, however, she will only serve about eight months of her sentence. She will also have to pay a fine.

Jarrar was elected in 2006 to the Palestinian legislature as a PFLP representative. She has long been a well-known PFLP politician, focusing on women’s rights and the affairs of prisoners in Israeli jails. Military prosecutors, said that not enough evidence had been found to convict Jarrar of her involvement in the PFLP’s armed activities,but she is or was a PFLP’member!

Although according to international law and Israeli courts no one can be detained for their political opinions, but in practice Palestinian political leaders are routinely arrested and detained as part of an ongoing Israeli effort to suppress Palestinian political processes – and, as a result, Palestinian political of sovereignty and self-determination.
