Total repúdio à ação repressiva do governo do Quênia!

Toda solidariedade ao Partido Comunista Marxista (PCMK) e ao povo queniano!
O Partido Comunista Brasileiro (PCB) vem a público manifestar sua solidariedade para com o Partido Comunista Marxista do Quênia (CPM Kenya) e por seu intermédio para com toda a classe trabalhadora do país irmão africano.
Nos últimos meses a sociedade queniana tem sido sacudida por grandes mobilizações de massa contra as medidas econômicas impopulares adotadas pelo governo da coalizão de centro-direita Kenya Kwanza (em Suaíli, “Quênia Primeiro”), encabeçada pelo presidente William Ruto.
A estas manifestações o governo tem respondido com atitudes repressivas, em detrimento das necessidades do povo trabalhador daquele país. Mais recentemente, ações persecutórias de caráter intimidatório foram praticadas contra militantes e dirigentes do Partido Comunista Marxista do Quênia pelo aparato repressivo do governo e por seus apoiadores.
Na madrugada do dia 10 de janeiro, um grupo de homens portando armamentos letais invadiu a residência do secretário geral do partido, Booker Omole, com o objetivo de eliminá-lo, tendo, contudo, fracassado em seus lúgubres intentos. Em paralelo a este atentado, o presidente nacional do Partido, Mwaivu Kaluka, e outros dois militantes foram detidos ilegalmente em Mombaça e somente libertados como consequência de protestos públicos e ação judicial.
O Partido Comunista Brasileiro saúda os e as camaradas quenianos/as pela resistência demonstrada em face da ofensiva repressiva e pelo ânimo manifestado na defesa dos interesses da classe trabalhadora de seu país. Defendemos o desenvolvimento das investigações que possam apontar os responsáveis pelo atentado contra a vida do camarada Omole e nos solidarizamos com a luta dos/as comunistas quenianos/as pela libertação nacional, a democracia popular e o socialismo.

The Brazilian Communist Party publicly expresses its solidarity with the Marxist Communist Party of Kenya (CPM Kenya) and through it with the entire working class of our sister African country. In recent months, Kenyan society has been shaken by large mass mobilizations against the unpopular economic measures adopted by the government of the center-right Kenya Kwanza coalition (in Swahili, “Kenya First”), headed by President William Ruto.
The government has responded to these demonstrations with repressive attitudes, to the detriment of the needs of the working people of that country. More recently, persecutory actions of an intimidating nature were carried out against militants and leaders of the Marxist Communist Party of Kenya, by the government’s repressive apparatus and its supporters.
In the early hours of January 10, a group of men carrying lethal weapons invaded the residence of the party’s general secretary, Booker Omole, with the aim of eliminating him, having, however, failed in their dismal attempts. In parallel to this attack, the national president of the Party Mwaivu Kaluka and two other activists were illegally detained in Mombasa and only released as a result of public protests and legal action.
The Brazilian Communist Party salutes the Kenyan comrades for the resistance shown in the face of the repressive offensive and for the enthusiasm shown in defending the interests of the working class in their country. We support the development of investigations that can identify those responsible for the attempt on Comrade Omole’s life and we sympathise with the struggle of Kenyan communists for national liberation, popular democracy and socialism.
